ASKAPS Academy Gears Up for MATATAG Curriculum Implementation

 

The dedicated educators of the ASKAPS Academy took part in the Division Training for Trainers of the #MatatagCurriculum, held from July 18-20, 2024, to equip themselves for the phased implementation of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) MATATAG curriculum.

The training program was attended by teachers from Kindergarten to Junior High School, along with High School subject area coordinators. It included a series of plenary sessions aimed at preparing educators to effectively apply the new curriculum guidelines.

Introduced on August 10, 2023, the "MATATAG" curriculum is designed to achieve key objectives: MAking the curriculum more relevant to produce job-ready, active, and responsible citizens; TAking steps to enhance the delivery of basic education services and improve educational facilities; TAking steps to safeguard learners' well-being, promoting inclusive learning, and fostering a positive learning environment; and Giving teachers the support they need to enhance their teaching capabilities.

The rollout of the MATATAG curriculum is set to begin in School Year 2024-2025, marking a significant step in transforming the Philippine education system to meet modern needs and expectations.
